Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Mohan Munasinghe Appointed Honorary Professor and Delivers Lecture on Responsible Management at Our University

On June 30, NJIT held a ceremony to appoint Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Blue Planet Prize winner Professor Mohan MUNASINGHE as an Honorary University President Zhang Yangfei welcomed him, highlighting how MUNASINGHE's expertise aligns with our institution’s goals in environmental, energy, economic, and management studies, supporting our "Summit Plan" for application-oriented university excellence.

After the ceremony, MUNASINGHE delivered a lecture titled "Balanced Inclusive Green Growth (BIGG) and Low Carbon Development in a Multipolar World: Key Role of China". He examined global sustainable development challenges, climate trends, and China's role in promoting low-carbon growth through the BIGG model he developed. He also engaged in a Q&A session with faculty and students on sustainable development and responsible management.

Attendees included faculty leaders, academic representatives and students of NJIT, and Dr. Hu Tao, Director of Shenzhen Lakeside Ocean Science Institute and member of China’s Academic Committee for Responsible Management Education.
