On March 21, NJIT held an appointment ceremony to welcome Mr. Lu Hanbin, General Manager of Czech Aviation Development Company, as a Visiting Professor of NJIT. Sun Aiwu, Chairman of University Council presented the appointment certificate, highlighting Lu's extensive international experience as a valuable resource for advancing the university’s global initiatives. Pu Lijie, Deputy Chairman of University Council encouraged Lu to foster cultural exchange and collaboration with universities in the Czech Republic and Central Europe in education, research, and academic partnerships.
Lu expressed gratitude for the appointment and committed to contributing to faculty development, international collaborations, and cultural exchanges. Born in Jiangsu, Lu has a strong background in promoting Chinese culture abroad, founding the first Chinese-language newspaper in the Czech Republic in 1993 and establishing a typewriter museum in Shanghai in 2010, showcasing rare typewriters from 14 languages.
Representatives from the university’s administrative offices attended the ceremony.
