On March 4, a delegation of 12 faculty and students from the University of Oulu led by Professor Jouni Markkula, Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering in University of Oulu and Vice Dean of NJIT-Oulu School, visited NJIT. Deputy Chairman of University Council Pu Lijie warmly welcomed the delegation.
Pu expressed a warm welcome to Professor Markkula and the Oulu delegation. He acknowledged the strong bond of 8-year collaboration and highly praised the dedications and accomplishments in both universities. Pu further expressed NJIT’s willingness to optimize the teaching & management quality of current programs, expand multi-disciplinary cooperative majors, and increase collaborative research, particularly in PhD training.
On behalf of the faculty and students of the University of Oulu, Professor Jouni Markkula thanked Pu for the warm reception, and praised the progress made by the students from SE program. He hoped that the NJIT-Oulu School students would achieve a wonderful life and that more teachers and students would participate in the exchange visits. Markkula looked forward to in-depth exchanges and detailed consultations with the heads of relevant schools as soon as possible, so as to jointly improve the quality and efficiency of NJIT-Oulu School. Renata Moilanen, a graduate student from the University of Oulu, expressed gratitude for the thoughtful arrangements and anticipation for the upcoming exchange activities.
Major representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and relevant schools also attended the meeting.
