On the afternoon of October 23, a delegation from Northumbria University, including International Director Robert Carthy, Head of China Operations Sunny Sun, and Partnership Manager Frank Wang, visited Nanjing Institute of Technology. President Zhang Yangfei and Vice President Zhao Wenxiang warmly welcomed the guests.
Zhang expressed heartfelt thanks for Northumbria's support over the past two decades and highlighted the successful collaboration in the Cooperative Education Programme in Electrical Engineering and Its Automation since 2002. He emphasized the need to further optimize the programme and expand cooperation between the two universities.
Zhao noted the programme's unique role in innovative education and urged both universities to deepen collaboration to cultivate internationally competitive electrical engineering talents. Carthy expressed gratitude for the reception and discussed expanding cooperative opportunities to enhance learning experiences.
The meeting included discussions on development planning for “3+1” and “2+2” joint degree programs, and faculty and student exchange initiatives.
Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges and the School of Electric Power Engineering also participated in the talks.
